About EMILY...
Emily Thwaits is a Los Angeles–based photographer specializing in still life and street photography. Raised in a creatively driven family, she developed an early connection to the medium—requesting her first camera at age six and advancing to DSLR photography by twelve. Largely self-taught in her early years, she refined her technical and artistic skills through independent study and digital resources before pursuing formal training.
Emily will earn her BFA in Professional Photography from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Spring 2026. Her work was exhibited in September 2025 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in collaboration with the university. Through candid imagery, Emily seeks to reveal the beauty of the everyday, using natural light and bold color to transform overlooked moments into compelling visual narratives. Beyond photography, she is an avid animal lover and devoted music enthusiast, drawing inspiration from all forms of art and creative expression.
